Charity Objectives

The three main aims of our charity are:

1. Preserve and Protect the Environment by reducing the amount of waste being sent to landfill, and educating the public about the reuse, repair, recycle ethic.

2. Ease Financial Hardship by providing very affordable household goods to the local community.

3. Training the Unemployed by providing opportunities in the shop for local people who are disadvantaged in the employment market.  We provide general retail and customer service work experience, as well as formal GNVQ training.

History

The Re-Use Shop was opened in 1986, and has been part of South Molton Recycle Ltd for most of its history.

In April 2008 SMR Phoenix was formed and the shop was transferred to the charity.
